What is the difference between an accounting manager and an account manager?

An accounting manager looks after the financial reporting, budgeting and accuracy of the company’s records and an account manager looks after the client deals and ensuring the service is delivered correctly. Usually, an accounting manager is part of the finance team, supervising accountants, confirming compliance and preparing reports of the company’s finances. Unlike operations managers, account managers pay attention to outside clients and interact closely with both sales and customer support teams. Although their names are very close, accounting and finance perform different roles—one is for the company’s internal financial tasks, the other focuses on clients and helping the business succeed.
