Okay, I need to see if I'm the only one dealing with this.
I feel like my relationship with movies and TV shows has totally changed. There are so many new releases every week across all these different platforms, but instead of feeling excited, I mostly feel overwhelmed. My "watch list" is a depressing graveyard of half-remembered titles I added in a moment of optimism.
The weirdest part? I'll often end up just... not watching anything new. I'll default to an old comfort show for the hundredth time because the mental energy of choosing something new feels like too much. It's like culture is moving at light speed, but I've opted to just stand still.
Is this just me getting older, or is there something about how we consume media now that makes it harder to actually connect with it? I'm curious how others are navigating this.
(P.S. I stumbled on this pretty simple site,
Who's Online
, a while back when I was wondering about the mechanics of how we all connect to these services in the first place. It was a surprisingly interesting detour from trying to pick a movie.)
