Hey everyone,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I just wrapped up a 14-day cleanse with a popular
belly flush
detox supplement system and wanted to share my completely honest, no-BS experience here since this forum helped me research beforehand.
My Stats: 38F, generally healthy but struggled with constant post-meal bloating ("food baby" was my normal state), afternoon energy crashes, and irregular digestion for years. I eat fairly clean but have a major sweet tooth.
The Protocol I Used: The "Total Reset" kit from [Brand Name Redacted]. It came with a morning fiber/herbal mix, afternoon clay drink, and nightly probiotic capsule for the second week.
THE JOURNEY - WEEK BY WEEK:
Days 1-3 (The Adjustment):
Physical: Felt gurgly. Bathroom trips increased from 1 to 3x/day. Mild cramping on Day 2. Drank a TON of water (1 gallon+ as instructed).
Mental: Headache on Day 1 (probably sugar/caffeine withdrawal as I cut both).
Surprise: By the end of Day 3, my bloating was already down 70%. This was my first "wow" moment.
Days 4-10 (The "Flush" Phase):
Physical: This is where things got... visual. The clay drink definitely creates a distinct "elimination." Energy levels soared. I woke up at 6 AM naturally, alert. Skin looked clearer.
Mental: Cravings vanished. A bowl of berries tasted insanely sweet. Felt a real sense of discipline and control.
Challenge: Socially hard. Explained to friends I was "doing a gut reset." Had to plan my day around being near a bathroom after the afternoon drink.
Days 11-14 (The Rebuild):
Physical: Digestion settled into a perfect, regular rhythm. Bloating was GONE. I actually saw my abs for the first time in years.
Mental: Felt optimistic but nervous about ending the structure.
MY RESULTS - THE GOOD & THE BAD:
The Positives (Were Real):
Bloat-Free: This was the biggest win. My stomach is flat and quiet all day.
Energy for Days: No 3 PM slump. Felt like my old, younger self.
Sugar Dragon SLAYED: My cravings for cookies and soda are just... gone. This feels like a superpower.
Mental Clarity: Less anxiety, better focus. The gut-brain connection is real.
Jumpstart: It broke all my bad snacking habits. I'm now craving salads.
The Negatives / Realities:
It's a Part-Time Job: The mixing, timing, and extreme hydration require constant attention. You can't just "forget."
Expensive: The kit was over $120. Is it just fancy psyllium and clay? Probably.
Not a Magic Weight Loss Pill: I lost 4 lbs, but I'm sure it's water/waste. This is NOT a fat-loss solution.
The "Results" Can Be Alarming: If you're not prepared for what comes out, you might panic. Do your research.
BIG QUESTION I HAVE FOR THE FORUM:
Now what? I'm on Day 15 and feel amazing, but I'm terrified of going back to old habits and losing this feeling.
For those who've done a cleanse: How did you successfully transition? Did you follow a specific reintroduction plan?
Any tips for maintaining these benefits long-term? I'm thinking of continuing the nightly probiotic and morning fiber, but skipping the clay.
Did the benefits last for you, or did bloat/cravings come back?
Would I recommend it? Cautiously YES, but ONLY if:
You're otherwise healthy and get a doctor's OK.
You're committed to the water and clean eating during it.
You see it as a tool to break habits, not a cure-all.
It was intense, sometimes inconvenient, but for me, the reset was worth it. The mental shift alone has been transformative.
Eager to hear your thoughts and experiences!
