Farm Comet Igniters in Shrouded Sky by sniping Comets outdoors with burst damage before they self-destruct, then loot the intact core for the rare ARC drop you need for late-game builds.
If you're deep in Shrouded Sky right now, you've probably hit the same wall I did: the Comet Igniter. It's the one ARC part that suddenly blocks everything fun, from Weather Monitor upgrades to the nastier craftables. People keep asking "where do I even get it?" and, yeah, you can farm it, but you've got to farm it smart. If you're short on time or just trying to keep your build moving, some players also top up essentials through marketplaces like
U4GM
, then save their actual play sessions for the annoying stuff like Comet hunts.
What Actually Destroys the Drop
A Comet isn't just a tanky ball that rolls around. It's a booby trap with legs. The moment it commits to you, it's thinking about one thing: getting close, locking in, and blowing both of you up. If it detonates, you'll still find scraps, sure, but the Igniter doesn't survive that blast. The whole trick is killing it during the self-destruct run-up, before the big boom. When it dies the right way, you're looking for that round core piece on the ground. Don't get distracted by the outer ring bits; those are basic ARC parts you'll see all day.
Loadout and Spacing That Keeps You Alive
You'll learn fast that tight corridors are a death sentence. Fight Comets in open terrain where you can backpedal and reset. I like burst damage over "hold the trigger and hope." An Anvil-class rifle works, and a heavy cannon feels even better if you can control it. The pattern's simple: crack the armor, then finish clean. First, open with a seeker grenade or a heavy explosive to soften the shell. Second, put 4 to 6 solid shots into the body, or fewer if you can tag the exposed core when it shows. Don't chase it when it wobbles; that's when people get greedy and eat the blast.
Finding Comets Without Wasting Your Route
Don't bother checking buildings. Comets roam outdoors on patrol lines and open crash areas, and you'll usually hear the hum before you see anything. Watch for the single front light and that glowing strip up top, especially in wide fields where your sightlines aren't blocked. If you're in a squad, make it boring and organised: one person pulls aggro, the others hit from the sides and keep spacing. Solo is different. If it's too close, bail and reset. Living to re-engage beats dying with nothing and having to run the loop again.
Make Igniters a Dedicated Farm, Not an Afterthought
The Igniter is a late-game choke point, so treat it like it's rarer than it looks. Don't recycle it for quick cash, and don't "just grab one if you see it" while doing other errands. Set a short session where you only rotate outdoor zones, listen for spawns, and leave once you've banked the two or three you need. It's calmer that way, and it stops upgrades from stalling out for days. If you're also stocking up for other projects, it can help to plan your resources alongside things like ARC Raiders Coins so you're not forced into panic farming every time the next blueprint drops.
