What Does A American Robin Sound Like ? The American Robin has a cheerful and melodious voice that is easy to recognize. Its song is a series of clear whistles that sound like “cheerily, cheer up, cheer up, cheerily, cheer up.” These phrases are often repeated in a rhythmic pattern, especially at dawn and dusk. Besides singing, robins also make sharp "tut-tut" alarm calls and soft chirps when communicating with other birds.
